Meet Our Staff

Our Veterinary Team

We have veterinarians working seven days a week for your convenience. Friendly, dedicated and experienced in handling pets of all shapes and sizes, we welcome you and your pet to Sylvan Corners Pet Hospital

We also have licensed, registered veterinary technicians and other great support staff to help your pet. We combine the advanced facilities, and state of the art technology of a larger practice with the warm, personal touch of a small-town clinic, allowing us to take the time necessary to diagnose and create personal treatment plans tailored to each patient's specific needs.

Dr. Christopher Sissle, DVM

Dr. Sissle graduated from the University of Florida School of Veterinary Medicine in 2005. He then moved out to California with his family and began working in and around the Sacramento area over the next few years. Dr. Sissle joined our team in 2013 and we couldn't be happier. His energy, enthusiasm and intelligence pushes the staff to reach for their own goals and sets an amazing example. He is a gifted surgeon and is often complimented on his ability to listen to the clients and pet's needs. He is a member of the CVMA, AVMA, SVVPMA and many other affiliations. He has two rescue Chihuahuas named Thor and Hulk. He is often at continuing education events, community events and mostly spending time with his two sons.

Dr. Donna Folger, DVM

Dr. Donna Folger was born in New York City, New York. She moved to California at the beginning of high school and began working with large animals on farms with her father. She then decided to go to veterinary school and graduated from UC Davis Veterinary School in 1989. She began practicing in Fair Oaks, where she met Michelle, Lil, Tammy and Dr. Berger. In 1992, the practice owner at Fair Oaks decided to purchase Sylvan Corners Pet Hospital from a previous owner, and all five of them ended up moving to SCPH, starting a new era for the practice. Dr. Folger is one of our most experienced full-time veterinarians and is an amazing surgeon. She spends her downtime supporting her husband, who is an author, and raising her children. She always has a cat around the house and is currently looking for a border collie puppy, her favorite breed.

Dr. Michelle Sievers, DVM

Dr. Michelle Sievers completed her undergraduate work at UC Berkeley, then graduated veterinary school in 1997 from UC Davis. She worked an internship in Ventura, California in small animal emergency medicine & surgery, with rotations into general practice. She has a love of emergency medicine, dentistry, and surgery. She has practiced locally in the area for the last 20 years. In her spare time she enjoys hiking and rafting with her family, scuba diving, mountain biking, and anything that takes her outdoors. When she does have free time she enjoys spending it with her husband and their twins. She also has one dog named Sunny and is always on the lookout for more animals. She is also a Chicago Cubs fan and is excited that they have won a World Series in her lifetime.

Dr. Jenna Lee-Ahrens, DVM

Dr. Jenna Lee-Ahrens has been working with our hospital as a dedicated veterinarian and her clients are always happy to see her. She enjoys veterinary medicine and finding solutions to chronic health issues especially with our feline patients. She grew up in Northern CA as well and went to UC Davis for her undergrad and grad school. She loves to spend time with her dogs, going hiking with them on our California beaches. And when she is home she loves to draw and sketch animals, usually one of her 2 cats or 2 canines. We are so happy that she is part of our team and I am sure you will feel the same after meeting her.

Dr. Dana Gilliam, DVM

Dr. Dana Gilliam has joined our staff and we are so excited. She has a true passion for helping animals and she brings her positive energy to the hospital every day. She grew up in Northern CA and went to Colorado State University in her route to become a veterinarian. She loves spending time with her horse and enjoys crafting as well. She would love to meet you and your furry family pet the next time you are at Sylvan Corners Pet Hospital.
